Update – June, 2010

“Fill-a-Container” Project

A few months ago, we told you about how God had planted “a seed of an idea” . . . an idea to fill up a shipping container and send it to Africa later this summer.

Needless to say, international shipping is new to us, and we knew that this would be a big job. We prayed for God to lead and guide and provide. He is answering prayers daily. We thank Him and we praise Him.

He provided not one – but two groups of people to help us get quotes for the shipping container and associated shipping cost. He also raised up other people to help us communicate and coordinate this project. We thank you God!

We prayed for a warehouse in which to store the donated goods until shipping time later this summer. God answered our prayer. Generous supporters of Susan’s Kids have donated the use of warehouse space, loading dock, and forklift. We thank you God!

We prayed for donations – concentrating first on gently used clothes, shoes, and toys for the children in Africa. We thank God for the donations we have received so far. We look forward to watching Him provide for all the other things on our list!

We prayed for boxes . . . lots of boxes - in which to pack the donations. God provided boxes! We thank you God!

We prayed for pallets to load the boxes on. The pallets needed to be specially treated for export. God provide pallets! We thank you God!

God has been so faithful in abundantly providing for the needs of this project. We trust Him to provide all the other things on our list. If God leads you to help us with any of the following items, please contact us.

· Baby Food (preferably dry cereal)
· Baby Formula (powder)

· Educational Toys
· Bibles
· Used Computers (to teach basic computer literacy)

\According to Wim Van Rensburg of Changing Tomorrow Children’s Foundation, this project is expected to reach 6,000 children in 71 villages within a 100 square mile radius in the country of Lesotho, Africa. These children are in desperate need. As we provide for their physical needs, we will also be showing them the love of Jesus.

We thank God for each of you. God has used you and your generosity to carry out His work in Africa. We praise God for all He has done. We thank God for the lives that have been changed in South Africa – and for the great work He is beginning in Lesotho.
